On 24th and 25th June, Regan Performing Arts, based at Hempstead Village Hall, put on their BIG dance show “A Night in a Museum” at the Central Theatre in Chatham, Kent - their first at this theatre and what an experience for all their students! It was a fun filled dance extravaganza based in a museum of curiosities where all was not what it seemed! There was so much to see from creatures of the deep blue sea to a painting that came alive!
Their whole dance family got involved in making the performances a success with parents helping with admin, costumes, prop making and backstage and their students working hard on their dances!
The Principal Linda Regan and Vice Principal Nina Helmer, wanted to use these performances to support this worthy cause with audience members making voluntary donations for a programme on each of the performances!
A little about the school…
The school was established in November 1988 by Linda Regan (Principal) when she was just 18 and is still run and taught by Linda along with Nina, who started out as a student age 9, when the school first opened.
It is approved by the well-respected International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.) which is an Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations) recognised awarding organisation. Linda Regan is also a senior examiner for the association and committee member for both the Musical Theatre & Theatre Craft faculties.

Regan Performing Arts Academy provides friendly and enjoyable classes in Ballet, Tap, Acrobtic Dance, Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre, Theatre Craft, Freestyle & Street dance. These are held weekly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Hempstead Village Hall and students of all ages from aged 2.5 to 18 years plus are welcome. They also offer the opportunity for students to regularly participate in I.D.T.A dance examinations and performances.

Amazingly, a number of their students have been successfully nominated for exams and represented the school at the prestigious I.D.T.A Theatre Awards and I.D.T.A Freestyle Awards.
Finally remember dance is not only a good form of physical exercise but is also known to be great for reducing stress and anxiety to help improve mental health!

Your kind contribution(s) can help us to...
1
Reach more children and young people 1:1, completely free of charge
We offer our 1 to 1 services completely free of charge and 100% depend on charitable donations which allows us to keep this essential service accessible to all who need it.
3
Develop innovative new courses and materials to help people
Understanding what causes suicidality, self-harming and everything inbetween is key to developing innovative materials that can create real change. Your contribution will go towards development of new materials and editions that can help young people and build their self-sufficiency and emotional resilience.
2
Help to bring down rates of suicide and self-harming in children
A world without suicide and self-harming is a better world for all. Your contribution will help us on our shared mission to end suicide and self-harming, and their underlying causes.
4
Provide a solution to the waiting lists and shortfalls that prevent young people getting help
Rates of young people needing social care services are rising and the resources to meet this growing demand are not currently sufficient through conventional routes. The Life Matters is part of the solution to get more people on the front line, and to empower families with materials that mean structured support can come from within the household too - rather than by crucial opportunities missed on a waiting list.
